According to the Anambra State Police Command, Anthony Kosisochukwu Okafor was detained by its agents stationed at Abagana Divisional Headquarters in cooperation with state vigilante agents for the murder of his 45-year-old brother, Emmanuel Okafor.
Kosisochukwu, 37, comes from Adegbe Village, Abagana, which is located in the state’s Njikoka Local Government Area.
Tochukwu Ikenga, the spokesperson for the Anambra Police Command, issued a statement on Saturday announcing the suspect’s arrest.
He claimed that the suspect admitted to fighting with the victim after they got into a furious disagreement about using food in the residence.
It was reported that Kosisochukwu pierced the deceased’s chest with a stick. The attending physician verified the victim’s death when they were taken to the hospital.
This story is extremely upsetting and emphasizes how critical it is to confront family disputes and domestic abuse. It also emphasizes how important it is to handle disagreements and feelings healthily and productively to prevent irreversible effects,” the statement read.
It further stated that the matter has been moved to the State Criminal Inquiry Department’s Awka Homicide Section and will be charged in court once the inquiry is complete.
