The family of well-known Nigerian artist 2face, whose real name is Innocent Idibia, has filed a missing person’s appeal with the Department of State Services. According to the Idibia family’s February 7 appeal, which was submitted by their attorney Wilson Anuge, the musician, popularly known as 2Baba, has not been seen since February 10, 2025.
The family clarified that the 2face, also known as 2Baba, never came home after leaving his house that day in his loungewear, presumably to go for his daily stroll. We are writing to ask for your immediate help in a very concerning matter concerning Mr. Innocent Idibia, popularly known as Tuface or 2Baba, a member of the Idibia family, who our client logically believes has been missing since Monday, February 10, 2025.
According to our understanding, Mr. Innocent left his house in his loungewear early on February 10, 2025, possibly to go for his daily stroll, but he hasn’t come home since. His family, employees, and the management of his record company have made every effort to get in touch with him or find him, including calling his friends and acquaintances, but they have not been successful in doing so.
The petition stated, in part, that “his entire family is deeply concerned about this disturbing situation, especially since those who should have heard from him have not done so for more than 72 hours.”The family pointed out that 2Baba had never before gone AWOL or disregarded his job for so long. They went on to say that his total lack of touch was out of character.
Concern was also raised by calls from a number of his close friends who said they had received messages from what seemed to be his social media accounts requesting money.
“These communications are concerning because Mr. Innocent is self-sufficient and has never needed help in this way. The ramifications of this situation are serious, and the possibility of foul play or coercion cannot be ignored. This has led his family to believe that his identity may have been compromised and that someone may have kidnapped him, actively manipulating him to take advantage of his contacts for financial gain. Our customer’s family members are extremely concerned about both his physical safety and the possibility of identity theft while he is missing.
As a result, the family asked the DSS to step in and urge the organization to use its resources and knowledge to find 2Baba.
Not to mention his wife, kids, family members, and now traumatized staff, the victim is a legend and a celebrity in the Nigerian music industry, and he is looked up to by numerous young people and residents.
The suspect’s heinous act of kidnapping him and putting him incommunicado has also left his musical empire paralyzed. We respectfully ask that you take immediate action to look into, find, and free the victim from wherever the suspect is holding him.
The artist reportedly proposed to Natasha Osaruwa, a legislator in the Edo State House of Assembly, barely hours after declaring his intention to wed her, in a video that went viral on Thursday.
Reports about his impending divorce from his estranged wife, Annie Idibia, were present when he proposed.
In the meantime, Rose Idibia, 2Baba’s mother, posted a video on Friday pleading with Nigerians to urge Natasha to free her son, saying that he has not been himself recently.
