According to reports, Prof. Emeka Chukwuma, a lecturer at Delta State University in Abraka, was murdered by gunmen. Our correspondent was informed by sources that the 56-year-old professor typically returns home to Asaba every weekend.
On Friday evening, Professor Emeka Chukwuma was killed in Asaba. After the Anwai campus was converted to Dennis Osadebey University, he returned to the Abraka campus, where he currently teaches at Delta State University’s Abraka, Anwai campus.
Sadly, Prof. Chukwuma was slain yesterday while returning home for his customary weekend in the St. Bridges neighborhood of the Umueji sector in Asaba.
Residents of Asaba have called on security forces to uphold their duty to protect life and property in the wake of numerous reported deaths and kidnappings in recent years.
When contacted, SP Bright Edafe, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the murder and stated that the police are investigating the crime in order to apprehend those responsible.
