ANTIMICROBIAL RESISTANCE PATTERN OF LACTOSE FERMENTERS Enterobacteriaceae ISOLATED FROM EGGROLL WITHIN IKOT EKPENE METROPOLIS

ANTIMICROBIAL RESISTANCE PATTERN OF LACTOSE FERMENTERS Enterobacteriaceae ISOLATED FROM EGGROLL WITHIN IKOT EKPENE METROPOLIS

ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to examine the antimicrobial resistance pattern of lactose fermenters Enterobacteriaceae isolated from eggroll within Ikot Ekpene metropolis. The study utilized standard aseptical methods in analyzing the samples. The result of the study revealed the following; total bacterial contents obtained revealed that sample 6 had the highest colony count of 6.8×104 cfu/g while sample 1 had the least with 2.9×104 cfu/g. Frequency distribution and the percentage occurrence of the bacteria isolates obtained from the…

ANTIMICROBIAL PROPERTIES OF COCONUT OIL AND PALM KERNEL OIL AGAINST SELECTED BACTERIAL ISOLATES

ANTIMICROBIAL PROPERTIES OF COCONUT OIL AND PALM KERNEL OIL AGAINST SELECTED BACTERIAL ISOLATES

ABSTRACT The antimicrobial properties of coconut oil and palm kernel oil against selected bacteria isolates was carried out using standard microbiological technique. The traditionally, extracted coconut oil and traditionally extracted palm kernel oil have been used in the south eastern Nigeria for the treatment of various diseases and skin infections. Four bacteria namely; Pseudomonas, Streptococcus, Straphylococcus and Escherichia coli known to cause some infections treatable with this oil were investigated. The susceptibility of the organism were carried out on Muller-Hinton…

ANTIBIOGRAM OF BACTERIA AND MINERAL CONTENTS OF FRESH Callinectes pallidus (CRABS)

ABSTRACT This study is aimed to analyzed the Antibiogram and mineral content of non-lactose fermenters from fresh Callinectes pallidus sold in Ifiayong beach. The analysis followed all the standard of microbiological and biochemical analyes. The results reveal the presence of such bacteria as Shigella sp 40%, Salmonella sp 36% and Klebsiella sp 24%. A total bacteria count ranged from 1.01×106 cfu/g to 1.20×106 cfu/g and the result of the antibiotic susceptibility profile of bacteria shows that the organisms were highly…
