Columbus Irisoanga, a veteran Nollywood actor famous for his flawless portrayal of a native doctor in films, passed away.
He received numerous honors for his extraordinary talent, including Best Actor in a Leading Role at the Best of Nollywood Awards, Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), Best Actor in a Drama at the City People Entertainment Awards, and Most Promising Actor in Nigeria at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).
Hilda Dokubo, another seasoned Nollywood performer, posted on Instagram on Thursday to announce Irisoanga’s passing.
“Our uncle has gone to be with the Lord,” Dokubo wrote as the caption for the news post—eh dein na mu ikoli.
Since so few of us are called home here, there must be many angels in heaven, right? Uniport Rivers State Nollywood is heavily featured in this one.
Irosanga, who originates from Rivers State, was not just a seasoned actor and television personality, he was also a senior instructor at the Department of Theatre Arts, University of Port Harcourt.
Among the many films in which he starred was Issakaba, which came out in 2003.
