Davido praises the Osun state commissioner of police

Davido makes a U-turn and praises the Osun state commissioner of police.

Davido, an Afrobeat artist, has retracted his prior criticism of the Osun State Commissioner of Police and acknowledged the security authorities’ efforts to manage the state’s issue.

The artist had denounced the commissioner earlier today, saying that he had not responded to the violence that took many lives by upholding the rule of law.

However, Davido acknowledged in a new statement distributed by X that after additional analysis, the commissioner made “genuine efforts” to control the issue as it developed.

Anger over the “needless killings” that took place in the state was the primary cause of his first outburst, he clarified.
The musician admitted that the police commissioner and other security chiefs had worked tirelessly behind the scenes, understanding the situation’s complexity.

Human emotions overcame me and many of my friends as we reflected on the lost innocent souls. We were unaware that the Commissioner of Police and senior commanders had been experiencing restless nights. I didn’t completely appreciate the police commissioner’s contributions at this point.

This is a serious omission, and I would like to say that I acknowledge and value his support for the rule of law and peacekeeping in Osun State,” Davido said.

He continued by praising the commissioner’s commitment and calling on security forces to step up their efforts to stop additional bloodshed, especially as the state gets ready for the local elections that are set for Saturday, February 22, 2025.

“I implore the security agencies, including the Commissioner of Police, to intensify their efforts to maintain peace in remembrance of the deceased and injured. We have to let the rule of law take precedence,” he continued.

Davido emphasized that it would be a major accomplishment for the Osun State Commissioner of Police and other security professionals as well as politicians to ensure a peaceful election process.
In closing, the singer wished the commissioner and other security commanders well in tackling the persistent security issues.
