we promised to share further information on the incident later.  Abdulrasaq Bello Kaura, a local neighbor, said that 16 additional schoolchildren were hurt in the Tuesday night fire. Kaura estimates that the fire burned for almost three hours.

He added that some stored sticks, called kara in the Hausa language, were cited as the fire’s source.
According to Bello, the event took place in a Mallam Ghali Tsangaya School study hall.
He claimed that millet and maize stalks kept on school property were the cause of the devastating fire.

It took place in their study hall at Makaranta Mallam Ghali. After the students were evacuated, they believed that none of the about 100 of them still remained in the house, according to the source.
