During the playoffs, Man City’s defeat by Real Madrid dominated the news.
Perennial champion Real Madrid defeated English powerhouse Manchester City 6-3 on aggregate Sunday night to wrap up the UEFA Champions League play-offs.
Man City had an uphill battle to turn the tide at the Santiago Bernabeu after losing the first leg of the match 3-2 a week prior.
However, a hat-trick from Kylian Mbappe, a French attacker, sealed their doom as they lost badly to Carlos Ancelotti’s team 3-1.
Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven defeated Juventus in another match that evening to go to the round of 16. To advance to the next round of Europe’s top competition, PSG also defeated Brest, another French team.
On Tuesday, there were also Champions League games.
