Portable requests that Femi Falana defend him.

In the Ogun State case, Portable requests that Femi Falana defend him.

Controversial singer Portable is seeking the assistance of renowned human rights advocate and lawyer Femi Falana (SAN) in his ongoing legal battle with the Ogun State government.

Because Portable’s bar lacked permitted permissions and had insufficient air space, officials from the Ogun State Planning and Development Permit Authority (OGPDPA) attempted to close it, which led to an ongoing dispute.

The situation was made worse by the musician’s attacks on the officials. Nine of Portable’s coworkers were arrested during the incident and accused of five counts: armed violence, obstruction, assault, felony, and intent to kill.

With sureties who are certified bond brokers on file with the state, they were then each granted ₦5 million in bail.
After that, the case was rescheduled for a second hearing on March 17. In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Portable—who has been hiding since the attack—publicly begged for legal counsel from a courageous lawyer, naming Falana as his top choice.

“All I want, God, is a lawyer who doesn’t back down.” He wrote, “People like daddy Falana, man of the people Isfalana,” alluding to Falana’s standing up for justice.

Before appealing to Falana for support, Portable had previously publicly pleaded with President Bola Tinubu to intervene on his behalf. Additionally, he begged Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun for forgiveness.
