Temidayo Fadahunsi, a suspected infamous mobile phone thief, was taken into custody by the Ondo State Police Command in the Ijoke neighborhood of Akure, the state capital.
According to the authorities, a phone theft case was reported to the local police station, and the suspect was taken into custody about the theft.
After the arrest, when Fadahunsi’s home was investigated, no less than 228 Android phones with many foreign SIM cards were discovered in his hands, according to state Commissioner of Police Mr. Wilfred Afolabi, who was parading the suspect and other suspects at the police headquarters in Akure on Saturday.
“A theft case was reported to the police on February 6, 2025,” the CP stated. Police acted quickly after receiving information and apprehended Temidayo Fadahunsi, a 25-year-old man in Akure’s Ijoka neighborhood.

Additionally, Afolabi paraded a few suspected kidnappers who were on the state police command’s wanted list due to their claimed involvement in various kidnapping activities throughout the state.
Aminu, Abdullahi Abubakar, Yusuf Saidu, Nafiu Ibrahim, Mohammed Anas, Kabiru Mohammed, Yusuf Suleiman, and Ishaku Abdul—a formerly incarcerated individual who was just released from prison—were among the suspects mentioned by the police chief.
“One Aminu was taken into custody at the Akure garage in Ikare Akoko on February 13, 2025, using technical assistance and intelligence collection. Abdullahi Abubakar was also apprehended as a result of his arrest. The tactical team that had been pursuing them apprehended Yusuf Saidu, Mohammed Anas, Kabiru Mohammed, and Nafiu Ibrahim in another operation that took place between February 14 and 15.
Additionally, when a woman in Ipele was kidnapped by unidentified gunmen in her home, the town’s police and youngsters rallied and promptly followed the perpetrators’ movements. While looking for the attackers, they were able to save the woman, therefore their efforts paid off. At the rescue site, they found an AK-49 rifle.
Yusuf Suleiman was later taken into custody as a result of intelligence-led policing.
Similarly, the Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad detained Ishaku Abdul after receiving a tip. The neighbors suspected the ex-offender, who was just released from a jail facility, of being involved in the recent surge of criminal activity in the neighborhood.
He was taken into custody in the vicinity of recent kidnappings, in the Aladura camp in Oke-Oge, Osi (Akure North LG). According to the CP, all of the individuals were on the police wanted list and would face charges once the investigation was over.
