ABSTRACT
This project is titled Route Survey From Ama John Akabo Road, Through Amatta To Orie Akabo, Ikeduru L.G.A, Imo State. The practical procedure involves perimeter survey, longitudinal profile cross-section and trigonometric heightening. The project covers a range of 5 kilometers (5.425 meters) with a chainage interval of 25m interval except in the change of points. Some of the instruments used were Nikkon Total Station with accessories used for the perimeter traversing, Automatic Digital Level for profile leveling and trigonometric heightening, plumb bob, 100m steel tape, handheld GPS for obtaining coordinates, laptop (HP FOLIO13) for data processing, cutlasses, and shovels etc. The project was carried out for the purpose of determining the road profile of the area which will assist the government in the future to solve the problem of route alignment that may arise during construction exercises and for research purposes.
