The Ogun State Police Command has arrested Deborah, a lady who has only been known as Deborah, for reportedly stabbing two women, Adebayo Omokehinde and Kolapo Aishat, during a fight in the state’s Aiyetoro region.
Omolola Odutola, the state police command spokeswoman, stated on Thursday that the suspect was captured a few days after reportedly fleeing the site of the incident.
The defendant is accused of attacking the victims on January 30, 2025, repeatedly stabbing them with a broken bottle, seriously injuring them, and then escaping the scene.
Following her arrest on Wednesday and the interview that followed, Odutola revealed that the suspect had admitted to the crime.
In a brutal attack, Deborah allegedly repeatedly stabbed them on their wrists, eyes, breasts, and other body parts, leaving them critically ill, she said.
The culprit fled right away and avoided capture for almost two weeks. But on February 12, 2025, our officers were able to capture her, so her luck ran out. Deborah admitted to committing the crime when questioned. The victims received medical reports right away, urging them to seek quick medical attention at a general hospital.
Iyanu Adedeji, 22, was accused in January of fatally stabbing her spouse Funsho Jimoh in the Gbonogun neighborhood of Abeokuta.
Following the event, the suspect went to a nearby Divisional Police Station to report herself.
