SUMMARY OF THE TEXT “ASA KINGDOM” BY UDOINYANG MBAT
Asa Kingdom by Mr. Udoinyang Mbat is a play, it’s all about two ethnic groups, Asa kingdom and Linkusi minority ethnic group. It all began when minstrels wanders (linkusi minority ethnic group from countries afar to settle in Asa kingdom.
As a people seasoned with Godly love, they accepted them in good faith, but they rose up in treachery against the will of nature in a peaceful land.
They king Asuma tried to talk to them but to no avail, because of bitterness in their mind.
Sam the youth president of Linkusi, gang up with his people to fight against the people of Asa kingdom.
They killed innocent people, burnt people houses, kidnap men, children and women. Making kingdom to live in fears.
The king Asuma summoned all his cabinets, Ifa told the king to pray to their gods, that gods was already waiting the king went to Asa kingdom shrine and prayed to their gods.
Immediately his prays was answered, Linkusi people started suffering the wrath of the gods.
Sam, Linkusi youth president went to the king complaining that his bowel is rumbling with leaking anus as if people are fishing inside, the king sent him to go and sort himself out. Immediately, Iton came in, showed the king a rotten cassava tubers and also complaining of plant melting to the earth, that his people are suffering. He was sent way by the king to go and wash his body before the king would listen to him.
Sam and Iton pleaded the king to have merge upon them that they will repent and avoid evil things. They had to sworn with their lives.
Asa kingdom chiefs and Linkusi chiefs were gathered in the king’s palace to discuss how thy can bring peace to the kingdom.
Linkusi chiefs pleaded for the king and Asa kingdom chief for forgiveness, promising how thy will put good attitude towards Asa kingdom people. They were forgiven and the king wish them peace among themselves.
Night of reconciliation the two ethnic groups gathered to conclude the process of peace accord. The Linkusi chiefs brought Rose flowers raised on fanciful can each of them. Asa kingdom chiefs brought flora raised in traditionally made handy container.
According to the king, the Linkusi Rose flower is the gro them with the kingdom floras on common ground, to engender love and unity of uncommon brotherhood.
