Man Utd sign Dorgu

Man Utd sign Lecce defender Dorgu for £25m

Patrick Dorgu, a Danish defender, was officially signed by Manchester United from Lecce on Sunday for an initial reported fee of £25 million ($37 million).

The 20-year-old has four caps for his nation and has made an impression in Serie A over the last two seasons, scoring five goals in 53 games in the top division of Italy.

The Portuguese coach’s dearth of options down the left side should be resolved by Dorgu, United’s first acquisition since the Ruben Amorim era.

In a club release, Dorgu remarked, “I am immensely proud to be able to call myself a Manchester United player; this is a very special day for my whole family.”

“I am so excited to collaborate with Ruben Amorim; his outlook for this team and the club’s future is truly inspiring.”There is a well-defined plan for my growth, and I believe Manchester United is the ideal setting for me to reach my full potential and realize my lofty goals.

The requirement to adhere to profit and sustainability regulations has made it difficult for United to support Amorim.

However, Jason Wilcox, the club’s technical director, is certain that Dorgu is a perfect fit for Amorim’s favored 3-4-3 system.
